Mid Summer Paid Media Updates

Hard to believe, but today is the last day of July!

We are always on the lookout for innovative ways to help you connect with your target audience and stay at the forefront of trends.

Here are the latest media update for July 2023

Google

  • Gen Z Music lineup is now available globally through Google Ads, offering an unparalleled opportunity for your business to make a lasting impact on this influential audience segment. Designed specifically to engage Gen Z audiences (aged 18-24) on YouTube Music, it is a game-changer for advertisers who wish to align their brand with the music that Gen Z viewers and listeners love. This means your brand will be seen right at the forefront of cultural moments, maximizing your exposure and connecting you with your target audience.

  • Google Looker Studio now offers an array of new GA4 dimensions and metrics. Google addressed the previous frustration of limited GA4 support. With a significant update in June, nearly all reportable GA4 data can be seamlessly integrated into Looker Studio.

  • Google My Business: New terms and conditions in effect as of today (July 31, 2023). Google updated the eligibility requirements for having an account. From my POV it will remove many fake accounts, and if your account is in good standards you will get more reach and exposure.

    We recommend making sure all your information is up-to-date with GMB.

Meta

  • Now you can add postal code restrictions in Meta Ads when running Advantage+ app campaigns in a particular country to refine your audience.

  • Beneficiary and payer information needed in Meta Ads with EU audiences: When creating an audience in the European Union, the information of the person or organization benefiting from the ad and the person or organization paying is needed beginning July 10, 2023.

TikTok Ads

  • TikTok has introduced Interactive Add-Ons for In-Feed Ads, like voting and countdown stickers, pop-ups, gestures, and floating icons, to boost engagement. By creating compelling ad campaigns, we can help bring in results and achieve your business objectives on TikTok.

LinkedIn Ads

  • With LinkedIn Thought Leader Ads, content from executives and employees can be featured. These ads will use authentic employee experiences to keep the content engaging and relevant. Only verified members can be promoted—verified by having the company listed as their active job on LinkedIn, and their employer should match the company page associated with the ad account. Additionally, the campaign setup requires Direct Sponsored Content (DSC) poster permission to be approved for the relevant company page.

Twitter -> X

  • Twitter's iconic blue bird logo was replaced with the letter "X." The rebrand is the company's next step in creating what Musk has called "the everything app."

  • On July 1st, Twitter's owner, Elon Musk, announced new daily content viewing limits to combat data scraping and system manipulation.

  • At the moment, we do not recommend that brands go on X, post content, or run paid ads.
